Political Attitudes

A majority of mixed-race individuals are liberal, especially when it comes to social issues. Forty-three percent identify as liberal, more so than any other race. However, their liberal social stances have not entirely transferred to their identification with a political party. Multiracial individuals are less likely to identify themselves as Democrats than African Americans or Asians. Thirty-seven percent identify as independent, the highest percentage of all races.

Though the majority of mixed-race individuals identify as Democrats, they are more likely to identify as independent than any other race.
